Soon after Casa de Bandini left Bazaar Del Mundo in Old Town, the owner Diane Powers opened up a new "second generation" Casa de Bandini in the Forum Center in Carlsbad.
Casa de Bandini provides a gluten-free menu on request at the restaurant. They denote which items are gluten free already, and which ones need to be modified to make them gluten-free. They will make fresh gluten-free tortilla chips upon request.
Casa de Bandini is a sister restaurant to Casa de Pico in La Mesa, and Casa Guadalajara in Old Town. All have gluten-free menus.

We had dinner at Casa de Bandini in Carlsbad (at/in the Forum center) off of Leucadia Blvd recently. The first time the GF menu was a piece of paper the waiter unfolded from his book, 2 weeks later, it was a nice bound menu. They will make fresh chips for us in a special fryer, but we need to ask. The staff seemed to be well-versed on GF dishes. They don’t take reservations--call when you are leaving home to put your name on the list to cut down on the waiting time when you arrive. Very nice atmosphere and beautifully decorated. Our family had a good time for a birthday celebration-Mariachi band and all! I suggest going early as parking can be a problem later.
