This bakery and cafe in Solana Beach is run by two women. They built it to be exceptionally green and sustainable. Claire's puts an asterisk by each item on their breakfast menu that is gluten-free. They usually have GF bakery items in the bakery case as well. They also state, however, that "Gluten free items are not prepared in a gluten free environment." They provide PDF's of their current menu (it varies seasonally) online.
They are open for breakfast (served all day) and lunch. Dinner Service is only on Fridays and Saturdays and only from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Reservations are a good idea, especially for lunch, as they are often quite busy.
