Cups is a relatively "green" bakery specializing in cupcakes using local, organic ingredients. The following are the flavors listed as gluten free:

Bottoms Up (chocolate cake with chocolate chunks & mascarpone cheese)
Bunny Love (carrot cake)
Choco Libre (dark chocolate cake)
Chocolate Decadence (flourless)
Chocotorte
Coco Cabana (coconut macaroon cake)
Coconut Cream
Hummingbird (cinnamon-spiced cake)
Lemone-Ricotta
Peaches n' Cream
Raspberry Cheesecake
Velours Rouge (chocolate buttermilk cake)

Three GF cupcake flavors are available each day (check the "Lounge" page for the flavors offered for each day of that week). To see which flavors are offered on a particular day, and for a more complete description of the GF flavors, see their "Flavors" page. They also offer many beverages, including a soda fountain and organic coffees.

Cups participated in the San Diego Gluten-Free Food Expo in November 2011. Those cupcakes went fast!

"Of the ten or so flavors they offer each day, they include at least one gluten-free, one vegan, and one low glycemic option. Of course, if you can't wait for your favorite to find its way throught the rotation, you can order two dozen of any flavor any time with a couple days turnaround. Their fun combinations include Coco Cabana, Chocolate Decadence, Bunny Love, and Limone Ricotta. Yum! $3-5."

Cups is a new cupcake restaurant in La Jolla, CA that offers amazing gluten free, vegan, dairy free and low glycemic cupcakes. Even though the cupcakes are not cheap (like $4 a pc) the restaurant only uses organic ingredients. My favorite, by far, is the limone ricotta gluten free cupcake which literally melts in your mouth; however, the Chocotorte is pretty tasty as well. It's my understanding that Cups only make the gluten free limone ricotta on Sunday's but, trust me, it's worth the wait. The website is cupslj.com and lists the "daily offering" - including gf options. I am not affiliated with the company (other than LOVING the cupcakes!).

"I just heard about Cups Bakery in La Jolla.  They have a gluten-free cupcake selection every day, along with their regular selections.  I spoke with someone there who said that they clean their pans before making the gf cupcakes; however, they cannot guarantee safety of the product since it’s made in a facility full of flour.  This may be a good bet for the less sensitive members of our community."

"I just tried their GF Chocolate Decadence cupcake. It tasted very similar to a flourless chocolate cake (yummy and very rich). The cinnamon whipped cream topping was delicious as well. It's expensive for a regular-sized cupcake, but this particular flavor was extremely rich so one was more than enough."
