These restaurants were formerly called Pat and Oscar's. Pat and Oscar's filed bankrupcy in 2011, but the franchisees banded together to become O's American Kitchen. They provide the same menu as the former Pat and Oscar's, which includes an option of a gluten-free pizza crust.

Just wanted to report on the Pat & Oscars Mission Valley Location we visited tonight (8/25/11).

The best and most affordable gluten free pizza crust in town. Sammy's GF tastes like cardboard compared to it, and Pizza Fusion and Woodstock's are plain too expensive. We ordered a medium sized pizza with Pepperoni, olives, green peppers and feta cheese, with a salad to share for around $20. Not too bad for a couple of college students on a budget!

Crust was moist, plump, and sweet. It also contained no butter, which is great because I watch my dairy intake fairly closely. The servers were extremely helpful as well, they talked about how they even like the GF crust and they're not Gluten Freebies. There's a first!

My wife and I haven't been out for pizza in long while, it's been either Mexican, In-N-Out, or Chipotle.
Nice to now have an affordable pizza place to add to the mix as a splurge every once in awhile.

I went into Pat and Oscars to see if the Pizza was truly Gluten Free. Here is what I found… the sauce and the cheese are at a different station. Any additional toppings come from the same location as the Gluten pizzas. I specifically saw an employee put pepperoni on a pizza (gluten pizza) and then pull it off and place it back in the bin. This happened with ham and with tomatoes in my visit. BE VERY CAUTIOUS of their pizza!!! I think its fantastic that they have a gluten free crust, but the pizza to me is still not gluten free.

Pat & Oscar’s-My family dined here yesterday for lunch at the Carmel Mountain Road location.  The pizza is big enough for two people.  My daughter and I shared it.  It was a good crust and the edges were not hard like you often get with a gluten-free pizza.  We just had a pepperoni.  They said if it sells well they might expand their menu.  We had no reactions, so it seems they are following the rules.  MF 3/8/11.

I recently visited Pat and Oscar's before they offered the GF pizza crust. They keep a list behind the counter of items that contain gluten. I found it a bit confusing as there are many items on the menu that I don't think they considered when making the list, If the chicken in the Lemon Chicken salad is not GF, then I think that same chicken is used in many of the new salads. Just ask lots of questions.
