Paper Products

RJ's note: The concern with gluten in various paper products is somewhat controversial. Gluten touching the skin is felt by physicians to not be a problem as they believe it must go through the digestive track to cause a reaction. But some people feel they get rashes from topical exposure. The ends of paper towels that have glue on them might possibly be a concern if it is touching food that will be eaten, especially when cooking in a microwave. Everyone needs to make their own personal decisions.

Bounty 7/06 "There is NO gluten in Bounty, Puffs or Charmin." Marla, Bounty Team. But see below under Proctor & Gamble.
Georgia-Pacific 7/06 "I can help you regarding your gluten question. I, too, have celiac's disease and understand your concern. The bath tissue and paper towels do not have gluten in them. Gluten is in the adhesive only that is at the beginning of the roll and at the very end of the roll. I cannot tell you if/how to use our products however I use them with the exception of the beginning and end sheets. I have never experienced a problem. However, yes there is gluten in the adhesive. You will need to use your best judgment." Consumer Response Center gpcrc@gapac.com 800-283-5547
