Reminder: You must take the responsibility of being vigilant by always reconfirming the GF status of a menu item and addressing cross-contamination issues each and every time.

Red Robin provides a gluten-free list of item choices upon request at each restaurant, and the GF menu items can also be downloaded from their website in PDF. It comes with a page of warnings that items could be substituted, cooking surfaces may not be gluten-free, etc. This list is updated every month.

"Just had a great lunch with my husband at Red Robin, a cheeseburger on a GF BUN!!!!!!!! Poor waitress, I got emotional. It was so nice to eat a burger that wasn't lettuce wrapped. Thank you Red Robin!!"

" . . . Another place I love is Red Robin. They cook their fries separate from everything else, and can make any burger “protein style”. The staff is pretty knowledgeable about GF as well."

"I just spoke with the food manager at our local Red Robin. He said that customers, upon request, will be given a listing of gluten free options. Their fries are cooked in dedicated fryers. He said their seasonings contain no wheat, rye or barley ingredients but there are other natural flavorings so if a customer is concerned, they can request their food be cooked with no seasoning.

I understand that cross contamination may be an issue but to be honest, with my 18 y/o son, it is not an issue yet & any sense of "normalcy" when out with friends is a good thing."

"And they will make any burger into a lettuce wrap....yummy. That is one of the places we eat at when company comes."

"The manager at the Red Robin closest to us said that the fries are supposed to be cooked in a dedicated fryer, but won't guarantee that this policy is always followed. He has asked that we call about 20 min before arriving to eat and he will change the oil in the fryer and have time for the oil to heat."

"We're actually going there tonight and I received an email from their corporate headquarters with menu options. It is only valid until 3/1/08, so I'll request a new one after that. I've not had any trouble the few times I eat there. They don't offer the burger in lettuce wrap on the menu here, but they make it for me. Plus, I love the fries and the option to get them when we go out."
