"Two doors to the left of the Red Brick Oven is a bakery, Swedish Royal Bakery. There are several gluten free pastries and cookies to choose from. Everything I bought was very delicious. GF cakes are “special order only” at this time, but the bakery does plan to offer them regularly this summer. The owner did caution me that other flours are used in the bakery. The gluten free items are scattered among the “regular” items. I ate the pastries and fortunately, had no “gluten” symptoms."

"I would like to recommend Swedish Royal Bakery in Poway. They have some delicious gluten free items in their bakery case regularly, but they recently came through in a big way on two custom orders. First, I asked John, the owner, to put together a variety of gluten free pastries and treats for a mother's day brunch I was organizing, which included my wife and daughter who are both Celiacs. John put together a great variety of items that were enjoyed with gusto by both gluten intolerant and gluten tolerant guests.
As successful as the brunch was, John outdid himself a few days later when I ordered a gluten free cake for my wife's birthday. I asked for a two layer white cake with chocolate butter cream filling. It was spectacular. The butter cream was indulgent. The frosting was sweet and light and perfectly complemented the cake. My wife and daughter both said it was by far the best cake they have had since they were diagnosed with Celiac. I wish I had taken a picture of it. As a gluten tolerant person, I can honestly say it was one of the best cakes I have had, gluten free or not.
