Reminder: You must take the responsibility of being vigilant by always reconfirming the GF status of a menu item and addressing cross-contamination issues each and every time.
The Trails Neighborhood Eatery has a Gluten Free Menu for both breakfast and lunch, with breakfast served all day. They also serve dinner 4 nights a week, with the menu marking items that are GF.
A YouTube video of the owner, Stacey Poon-Kinney, was filmed at the 2011 Gluten-Free Food Expo. In the video Stacey explains how her restaurant strives to serve safe and delicious GF Food.
TheTrails Eatery was featured on the Food Network show "Restaurant Impossible", where an expert came in to "save" the restaurant. The episode is on periodically - check the link above for upcoming showings.

"My husband and I went there for breakfast on Saturday. It takes a little longer for the gluten free meal to come versus a regular meal, but they are taking lots of precautions to keep it safe. The owner is a very sweet lady."

"
I just wanted to let everyone know about the Trails restaurant in Del
Cerro, next to Mtn. Mike's Pizza. They have just unveiled a HUGE
gluten free menu with both breakfast and lunch items. My son had
delicious fluffy GF pancakes on Sunday morning and was very happy:)
The menu says that they have a separate toaster for GF bread and a
separate grill for the GF pancakes and eggs. Such a treat!"

"I know someone else posted about this restaurant, but it really deserves another review. It is located in the San Carlos area (near La Mesa) on Jackson Drive. It's a little homestyle cafe, but they have a true gluten free menu. It is separate from their regular menu and you just ask for it when you are seated. I've been twice in the last two weeks! The first week I had a turkey sandwich (an actual, real sandwich...on bread!) It was very good. I went back today and had the GF blueberry, banana pancakes. They are HUGE and delicious. I also had an egg and shared some of my mom's home fries (all GF). I have eaten here with my husband, mom and sister, none of which are GF eaters and they all loved their food too. Plus, for a GF menu, their prices cannot be beat. I think my meal was $6.99. They also offer lots of egg dishes that come with GF toast and the option of a GF muffin. The staff seems very knowledgable about GF which is always a relief! If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend this place especially for breakfast! It's my new favorite GF spot.
The only thing is they do not have the GF menu on their website, but when you walk in, it is posted that they offer a GF menu.
