Reminder: You must take the responsibility of being vigilant by always reconfirming the GF status of a menu item and addressing cross-contamination issues each and every time.
Urban Solace is located in the North Park area of San Diego. They offer on-site gluten-free menus. Their gluten-free menus are also available in PDF from their website menu page: www.urbansolace.net/menus-eat-and-drink (look at the bottom right of the page).
In addition to their gluten-free menu, Matt Gordon, chef and owner of Urban Solace, wrote in 2010: "EVERYTHING is soy free as we don't use any soy sauce or soybean oil in any of our food. We make all of our sauces, dressings etc.. from scratch so there are no products that might have been made with soy or wheat gluten in house either (we even switched brands of worcestershire sauce because the one we used to buy had a wheat gluten in it). Hope you are able to make it in!

"I ate last night at Urban Solace, on 30th Street in North Park. They have an extensive gluten-free menu, with items that can also be vegan (I don't eat dairy). The menu is pricey ($14-$17 entrees) with some less expensive salads and sandwiches (for the non-Celiac). The staff was very attentive."

"I wanted to recommend a restaurant that has an entire gluten-free menu, here in San Diego, that I just love. It’s called URBAN SOLACE. Their website is www.urbansolace.net, and they’re in North Park. I went there with a girlfriend, expecting to order a salad (sans croutons) and ask the waiter all the millions of questions I had, when suddenly he said, “Wait, do you have Celiac’s?” - music to any Celiac’s ears.
Turns out, they have a separate gluten-free menu that’s simply terrific. Their salads and cocktails are great (so is the service) and the potato gratin is to die for!" 8/09
